So many things!

Today, on the holiday celebrating second chances, I am grateful for second chances.

I’m grateful that my Mom hosts Easter dinner every year. I’m grateful that my Dad is able to stop by (they’ve been divorced since the ’70s, but they enjoy each other’s company–we all enjoy each other’s company). I’m grateful for my family, as wild and crazy and passionate as we all are. It’s loud sometimes and it’s wonderful and I love it and I feel blessed.

I’m grateful that I was able to spend hours today making the cake and ice cream–lemon, with almond-vanilla butter cream, lemon mousse, fresh raspberries, and a white chocolate glaze (picture coming). I admit that no coconut was involved and the cake was not bunny-shaped (also, in the ’70s). I love to feed my family.

And speaking of second chances, I’m grateful for tomorrow, even though it’s Monday. It’s another second chance.

Open the door. Open my heart.
