An exciting day.
(It’s a good thing I’m a poet and not a photographer.)

Yes, I know I’ve mentioned this before, but this is the real book launch post, because now you can see what the cover looks like, with Kathleen Otley’s artwork. And In Both Hands has a webpage on Ravennapress.com.
The book’s at the printer’s. Exciting. A little nerve-wracking. I realized this is my stealth book: Many of these poems I’ve never read out loud in front of people. As poets, as writers, we can noodle for two hours over a word or even a comma. But then there’s the voice. Time to practice, to get these poems into my body.
The official launch at Open Books is a week and a day after my birthday, so it’s a post-birthday book reading, with an after party at our house.
Poems. Wine. Food.
Here are the details:
February 9th, 3:00 pm
Open Books: A Poem Emporium
2414 North 45th Street, Seattle
At the reading, we’ll have directions and maps to our house.
I hope to see you there!
