It’s been hard these past few days to think about gratitude. How do you feel grateful in such a world where children can go to kindergarten in the morning and get shot? It all feels so wrong. So much loss.
Over the past few days, I’ve tried to remind myself that it’s still important to be thankful–to notice what we have and be thankful. Maybe more important.
So today I’ll just say that I’m thankful for the people who tried to stop the shooting in Newtown–the people who gave their lives trying to stop it, trying to protect the kids.
I’m thankful every day for my kids and that they’re well. Every day. For my whole family. Every day.
Open the door. Open my heart.
