Gratitude journal, festivities edition

The week of Christmas brought much to be thankful for:

Early morning reading time

Much time with friends and neighbors.

Time with the big extended family, and toasting those family members who were elsewhere. We’ll catch up with them in the new year.

Quiet moments.

A safe moving-back-to-school road trip with my daughter–in the van, up to Bellingham and back, with an interlude for unloading. Driving the van makes me nervous, but 180 miles gave me time to get used to it. I still don’t like merging, changing lanes, or backing up, but the sunset was glorious.

Now, I have one more package to put together.

Open the door. Open my heart.
