Sunday gratitude, with snow and poetry

Many thanks to all the people who trekked through snow and slush today to come to Open Books for the launch of In Both Hands. And thanks to those who stopped by the house after and helped us eat cake. Thanks for helping me celebrate this new book.

Thanks to my sister who gave my mom a ride.

Thanks to my sister-in-law who gave me a ride back.

Thanks to Tom who helped me put the post-launch party together.

I’m thankful for my book club, and I’m also thankful for a safe drive home last night. It was pretty and not scary. Sure, it was only about an inch of snow–but we live in a city of hills, and I’m not good at driving in the snow.

I’m thankful for opportunities.

Open the door. Open my heart.
