Day 3 poetry writing prompt

Yesterday, we wrote about an event taking place in our persona’s life.

Today, write about the day before the event–or before the event started. Some events take a long time, but we’re trying to locate that point in time when the person doesn’t know or knows barely, a few premonitions.

And you’re invited to add your favorite line from yesterday’s poem in the comments. (I’ve added mine.)

  1. Mary, thanks for the leap of pen to ink to eyes and the rest–I’m intrigued.

  2. Love that heaviness 🙂

I’m very curious about what happened with your poems from last year’s NaPoWriMo; I assume when you have them published you’ll mention it in the journal? Or did I miss something?

  3. Mary, thanks for asking. The answer is, “nothing.” (That’s embarrassing.)

I still want to get back to them, and I think reading Gabriella Calvocoressi’s The Last Time I Saw Amelia Earhart gave me some ideas, a way to get purchase on them. Maybe in May?

  4. Oh, sorry. I’m still shopping around the three really good ones I got from last NaPoWriMo. And there’s one or two I haven’t fixed up yet, sadly. I think May sounds good 🙂
