April 10 poetry prompt: Home where you are now

Bethany Reid posted the other day about writing on the same topic for an extended period of time. Her topic was peace—which sounds like a good one. We can definitely use more peace.

Today’s prompt is to write a letter to something in the place you live now—or something in the city where you live now—but make it one particular thing.

Not the town as a whole. Not even a park or a market as a whole. The idea is to get as specific as possible–one tree in the park, one farmer’s stall at the market (or one tray of vegetables, or one vegetable).

Zoom in!

Or write about peace.
