April 11 poem prompt: A journey into time

As we’ve focused on place in the context of time, now we can focus on time.

Today’s letter-poem-writing prompt comes from The Artist’s Way, and you have two choices:

Think of your childhood and choose an age—six, seven, eight. Remember who you were specifically, what made you happy, what didn’t, what dreams you had. Write a letter to yourself now to yourself at that age.

Imagine yourself at eighty—who you are, what you’ve accomplished, what you still want to do, what you feel good about. Now write a letter from yourself at eighty to yourself now.
