April 14 prompt: Blast to the past

Today’s prompt comes from The Daily Poet. The original prompt is to imagine that someone famous from the past comes to visit you. Write a list of the questions you would ask, and write the person’s answers. Write your poem incorporating lines from the Q & A. Then research things that the person said and use one for an epigraph.

Or you can keep working with letters—imagine the person has visited you, has left, and now you are corresponding. Write a letter to the person. If you need help getting started, try “I wasn’t expecting.” You can look up things the person said and incorporate them (“When you said,” “If you meant”).

Now I need to think of who my person will be today. Who will you choose?
